Life of a Roman Solider
The life of a roman solider was simple but hard. If you entered from your own will or were put in you had to serve for 25 years. There were some requirments that had to be met to join. You would have to be a roman citizen and you had to be at least 20. some rules were not really allowed to get married. the reason I say not really is because some times it did happen in secret or there was an exception to the rule. When you left the military there were some options open for you to choose from you could collect a pension or you were gifted some farm land. If you were old you could move in to a military town.
Roman Religions
In the first century of Rome a new religion took called Christianity. People who worshiped Christianity were also known as Christians. Also Christianity worshiped one god and refused to worship all the roman gods witch the time was illegal so Christians were hunted as criminals.
How Roman Society was Organized
Roman society was divided into five category. From the top down it was Senators, Equestrians, commons, free people and slaves. Senators were basically a group of presidents so they were the top of society. Next came the Equestrians witch were soldiers on horses that went about the sheets to keep the peace and to protect the citizens from outsiders. Then came the commons that were common they were your every day common working citizen. After them is the free people witch were people that were freed slaves, kicked out of the military or any thing else that other people would find dishonorable. And last and very lowest is slaves. Slaves were either captured people or criminals.
What Aspects of Daily Life Made the Romans Unique
The average Roman family consisted of father, mother, children, married sons, their family, and slaves. If you didn't get married by the age of 15-16, you were punished. The person who decided who his children marry was the head of the house, the father. Rome didn't have any public schools. The family was very important to the Romans. Women were under control of their husbands but controlled how the house was run. Most children went to private school or studied at home.
